Become a Hockey Alberta Official – Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for anyone interested in becoming a hockey official in Alberta for the upcoming season.

Through the Hockey Canada Officiating Program (HCOP), participants of all ages have the opportunity to stay connected to the game beyond playing. With dedication and a commitment to learning, officials can progress through different levels of development, gaining experience and participating in exciting, challenging games.

Last season, 6,117 officials registered across Alberta, including a record 580 female officials. The province also welcomed 1,500 new officials, with 60 per cent under the age of 18.

"Officials play a crucial role in the growth of hockey, keeping the game fun, fair, and safe for all participants. Join the officiating team and build skills, meet new people, earn extra money, and stay connected to the sport you love!" said Liam MacIsaac, Manager of Officiating at Hockey Alberta.

Officiating offers more than just a role on the ice, it’s a chance to develop leadership, communication, and decision making skills, while becoming part of a supportive community that shares a passion for the sport.

Benefits to becoming an official:
